Taliban personified

I hate Tuberculosis, really really hate it!! Not only because Mycobacterium creates a havoc in the human organism...but coz Prof. Yayushev created the same havoc in our MINDS.
We were going to be his last group this semester and so we were able to get a feedback from the previous 3 batches about what we are going to face!! ..n well, they actually Frightened us..
Yeah..they did manage to do that, very well indeed!

Its a 22 day long rotation minus 2 weekends. And in this long cycle, all he deals with is LUNGS..poor lungs... I get the idea of a Phthysiopulmonologist teaching us lungs but for 22 DAYS, isn't that too much??
And again, his class starts from 8:45 till 12:30 with 2 long breaks in between (so basically waste of time...we spoke about all the sensible and non-sensible things during those sacred TB-free mins)

I came to know his mantra- REPETITION. He constantly loved repeating the same things, the same words, the same tests...lol...MORBIDITY was his fav. answer to any kind of a general question regarding TB
For instance: Why don't we diagnose TB but instead go for Pneumonia as a primary diagnosis?
Why is TST positive in Developing countries?
Even if culture negative, and no response to Antibiotics, why do we still continue
with anti-TB Chemotherapy?
. .... and many many more questions!
Answer to the above: MORBIDITY (...lolzzz )
within a few days with him, we could answer him :) ..and get in reply, " you are absolutely right!, absolutely right!!!"

Overall his cycle could have been of maximum week..not much..coz all he did was repeat, repeat, repeat...n repeat! the more I hated that subject, the more it seemed longer and never-ending.

That's description of X-ray.. :) :) Woah...
But hey, apart from all the boring , aweful time we had, I have to mention that he taught us X-rays just too well!!...so much so that we find TB in any damn X-ray henceforth :) :)

So concluding about him..he's intelligent and systematic, repetitive and boring, monotonic and limited, encouraging and expressive..in short explains too well, just too much! :)
Now take it as a grumble or an appreciation about this teacher in my academic career!!!

Guys who know him.... "по-чи-фо-ра-ин-ри-ко-с" !!!!

...from the pages of ID dept.

Now I'm going to do something i'm really good at:- Describing people! At the top of the list is my Teacher whom I recently gave exam of Internal Diseases..."Elena Nikolaevna Andreicheva". Now seriously, she's one person who loves teaching n talking n be-friending people. She's like a symbol of a really outgoing person!! When I was in 3rd year of my course, I had heard about this "classic triad of A" (note that we have such strong influence of medicine that we just can't go away from it..lol ) namely - Anisa, Alfia and Andreicheva! (About those other two...well later ...Anisa in particular coz she'z one lady I adore!) If we go through all these "A's" we can hope to be a good doctor...well ahem ..thats what they say... I was privilaged to be with 2 of 'em... U know, she has such simple rules, regular routine and few expectations. She'll always start any cycle with a case report of the patient...individually. and We have to submit the case report by the end of the cycle(ideally) or by the end of that semester. Of course we had exceptions :) (remember every rule has EXCEPTIONS) :) Internal Diseases is a very general subject, if u look at it. But its one of the main subjects, we as students of general medicine would have and I cannot think of anyone but her to be in that place. I remember so well...she used to give us topics that we are going to discuss during the whole cycle...n some of us did actually come prepared...well..umm.....most of the time :)..she hardly let us say anything. She said..."there's a high possibility that you won't remember the correct things of that disease but the wrong things said by ur colleagues". :) so true! n so she was always on this MISSION of getting the Davidson or Harrison into our heads....can U imagine, She can speak from 8:30 in the morning till 12:30 with just a 5 mins break in the middle somewhere!!!! I used to listen to her till 11 i guess...max 11:30..uske baad I dont know where my mind wandered...lol ..:P this is one thing almost all students are going to agree with! "Yeah..that happens all the time with us" (chorus) :) ...and then teachers expect good answers in exams :) :) But yeah, she was really awesome in TEACHING. She goes ..just too deep into explaining something so much so that she often has to ask "How did we come here??" I remember, someone asked her about Varicosis...and she went on detailing every aspect of it ..n finally ended up saying that we should go to the beaches in summer to see legs of young women in whom we can find mild degree of d same!! wow...u know she need not to tell that..guys do that all the time...I mean STARING..n now they r going to get just another excuse!! :) She's wonderful...I mean it!...Not coz she gave me an excellent in finals.. ;) I have many other reasons to praise her for sure. She overwhelms me by her overall attitude and makes me comfortable..so much so that I don't care about making mistakes in front of her..I dont need to be cautious or u know...try n impress her..coz She KNOWS..just like our Mother...she knows who's WHO n HOW!! :)
